Painting Brake Calipers

I'm in the process of painting the brake calipers on my car (6-piston Monoblock type) and wondering what paint I should use.

Do I need to use high-temp paint or will regular spray paint be ok? What about primer, does this need to be a specific heat rated type?

Car won't be going on a track or anything to get the brakes red-hot.

I can't recommend one but use a proper caliper paint.
Most just require the caliper to have a very good clean to use and no primer.

+1 for proper caliper paint.

I used Hammerite and it blistered, though that was through track use.

They will get hot regardless of track use so high temp paint is a must

I bet frosts have some good stuff or halfords some cheaper, not so good stuff

I've gone with some caliper specific paint just to be on the safe side.

For anyone else reading, I've had great results brush painting with Halfords engine enamel. Limited range of colours but gloss black works well. Flows smoothly off the brush and covers well without leaving brush marks.

You can just about get away with one coat and two is enough.

buzz weld high temp paint and lacquer for me. Granted track car hammarite just peeled off. Buzz weld still fine 2 years on.
