Just done 700 miles in the new beast. Once I got the seat in the right position, which took a while, it’s supremely comfortable on a long journey. With the damper and engine maps in GT mode it just purrs along at sub 100 mph speeds and quite possibly above too. On a twisty A or B road dampers in Sport, engine on Sport + map and paddles is really very good and real world as fast as my 2019 Vantage… apart from the brakes. My car seems to have a long pedal travel where very little happens then as you push through the dead zone it is difficult to modulate the pressure. Any one else found that or do I need to get them checked out?

Don’t recall that with my DB11. Brakes were a big upgrade in stopping power from my DB9 although less feel to them. Also some of the grabbiness others have mentioned when they were new but that went eventually. I don’t recall a long action or an initial dead zone on my 2017 V12. I now have a DBX which definitely did feel like the brakes were initially soft compared the the DB11 when I first switched but I don’t notice that now.

I’ve had no issues whatsoever with the brakes on my 2018 car. Feel and modulation is perfect and they don’t even squeal. I read and heard some comments about modulation early doors but consider it may have just related to the 2017MY cars.

Maybe worth noting that these while they are steel rotors, but they are very high performance brakes. Huge 400mm rotors and 6-pot calipers are the preserve of very fast cars.

All high performance brakes can be a little temperamental if not used as design intent. They need to get worked and get hot periodically or they can start to squeal and lose feel. Squealing and recalcitrant high performance brakes are the one system where an ‘Italian tune up’ really can work wonders smile

Note - it’s important before any ‘Italian tune up’ that there is plenty material left on the pads and the discs are in generally good order and not warped.
