Well well well.

Three Highways Maintenance vehicles involved.

We all know just how well driven tipper trucks are. What are the odds the three knuckle draggers (they always are) were f*****g about?

Causing chaos for thousands of other road users.

At least they have some building materials to repair the road with.

HGV drivers of my acquaintance suggest a bit of 'road dancing' perhaps. Arse.... Tipper drivers sometimes get per load bonuses too so they may have been racing to get to be there first to go back for another load. rolleyes

Judging by the way I often see those things being driven they've been given a special dispensation from the laws of physics. However, it looks like at least one of them had theirs withdrawn on this occasion!

To be fair, all local authority employees and those that they use are fking knuckle draggers.

That was my immediate reaction, too.

Probably racing each other out the nearby quarry.

And paid by the load, not by the hour:

Yep. My mates brother drives one of these from a nearby quarry. He - and the rest of them from what I see - drive like absolute maniacs, even in 30 limits. I had one (fully loaded) thunder up behind me and try and overtake me on my motorbike going down hill in a 30 going into a bend before he realised it wasn’t going to stick. Alarming.

I got into a heated discussion with him about the way they drive and he reckoned that driving like this got them an extra load per day.

My in-laws have a big haulage firm in Yorkshire and my BIL told me that these tipped drivers really are regarded as bellends.

I'd rather an insurance black box in a 7.5t tipper driven by a bellend than in a 1 litre corsa driven by a teenager.

There are two quarries near us, and the drivers all seem to be trying to get that extra load in. I like to make progress, but they seem to have no regard for the nearby 30 limits, and they aren't exactly small trucks. One came round a bend heading towards me, over the centre line, earlier today and I had to clip the hedge to get out of his way.

To be fair, we don't know what happened... could have been mechanical failure or illness.

Stereotypes tend to have reasons !

I do note the very large buckle in one of the rear wheels of the tipped lorry, its hit something pointy and hard. Almost like a collapsed drain.

The ones pictured are probably either 18t or 26t, but the point remains..

Which way was the wagon going at the point of impact though, that is the rearmost axle.
