VitalTax has stopped working for me so I need an alternative; can anyone recommend an alternative?

"Vital" means alive. Has it died?

It has for me - the Excel Add-in won't start when I click on the menu bar & I just get a error message about checking internet connectivity. I am paid up so it's not due to that running out.

Well I will be in seven day's time unless I can get this sorted. Oh for the days when I could post off a paper form.

I've just tried it on the one company I use it for and it's all fine?

Have you tried turning your computer on and off again - at the mains?

It worked the other day for my TV when it stopped talking to t'internet thingy.

Thinking about it, I think I had to reinstall the add-on for some reason last quarter as it had disappeared.

I've done a restart but I'll turn off at the wall later.

Being a 365 installation Add-ins are overseen by the Admin center so it could be an Excel/365 issue. I've deleted & re-installed te Add-in but even running a test from the Admin Center gave the same error message. At the moment I only see the Admin Managed option in the Add-in Manager even though it should be set up for users should to be able to locally install from the MS Store:

My next step is to try & install a bridge from another vendor so at least I can submit my return.

Do you want a spreadsheet to calculate all the Box 1,2,3 etc numbers or software to file it through the gateway?

I made a manual spreadsheet for my Dad for MTD that works it all out automatically and totals up everything you need for Box 1, 2, 3, etc. He uses that and uploads through PTP Accounts Production VAT Filer and has worked fine for several years.

Thanks, but that part isn't the issue - I've been producing the underlying spreadsheet for years. It's the bridge software that isn't playing ball so I'll have a look at PTP.

I have used TaxCalc VAT Filer for a few years. Very happy with it, and it is very good value.
