Mmmm…you reference a story from 21 years ago…hardly deserves to be in the News section.

You could always contact the Guardian and ask for the couples contact details and you could find out first hand how it went, being this was 21 years ago.

People moaning about the article being 21 years old. So? I didn't know anything about this and found it to be interesting.

Would have been more interesting to hear (sic!) about how the adult child is doing and get his opinion.

If only it was a Mail story from 21 years ago, then we could reminisce about the price of the family’s house.

News when it's news, not when it's history. That baby is in its 20's now!

I shall presume you meant deaf.

Not sure why this bothers you though.

From a more practical point of view it makes a great deal of sense, if that is the right word. Two deaf parents raising a hearing child would present many challenges, the most obvious one would be language development and communication.

Surely every Time someone with a hereditary disability has a child they're doing the same thing?

They needed a sperms donor. They fundamentally disagreed with disability screening, and found a perfectly good donor with the exception of being deaf.

So having designer diabled babies is OK?

Not sure why there would be language development problems?
