Do you smell??

After driving the Griff I always smell very strongly of exhaust fumes, doesn't matter if the roof is on or off. My car is a pre cat so expect it to smell a bit potent but its getting to the point where i even get a bit of a headache! Do they all do this or is something amiss? Cheers, Simon.
I made miine better by taking the rear lights out and using a mastic sealent when replacing them.
Also make sure the boot seal is in good nick.
I also read about someone who cut and shaped some dense foam and fitted it above the inner wheel arches in the boot.
Mine was also better after being set up by MA, he reckons the smell is the hydrocarbons.......
Of course if the hood is off ( as it should be) then you will still get a bit.
Mine used to make me smell alot, but last wednesday (after nigh on 300 miles in one day) I only whiffed slightly.........

Someone has suggested makine the pipes longer, but how long is longer? Are we talking a couple of inches or am I likely to have someones eye out the next time I reverse??
Ive fitted exhaust extensions to my 4.0 Precat Approx 5" LONG. It does reduce the exhaust smell slightly , but does not cure it. It may help if you turn your internal fan switch off!

I’ve never had an exhaust fume problem, and you guy’s who do appear to be in the minority (in the Griff scheme of things). So I would guess it’s a fault with your cars. Most likely to be the exhaust system leaking that’s some how getting into the cabin. Another possible, do you have speakers in the rear vents….

It could be gasses leaking from the engine bay into the cockpit from a number or sources. Check the seal around the big black 4" pipes against the bulkhead (they carry the air from the heater matrix on the pax side to the vents on the driver's side.)
There is another hole on the pax side near the rad - One big one near the alarm siren (not the one just in front of the rad - that is the intake for the cabin blower motor). Make sure that is sealed.
Of course you also need to address the cause of the fumes in the engine bay, but that might stop a lot of it coming into the cockpit!
Another thought - mask up the vents on the parcel shelf and see if it is better. If it is, your boot seal might need replacing.

Ahh, now were getting somewhere.
I did have this problem and to me it smelt like cat pee. It was the inner wing seams getting hot below where the heat shields stop short. On close inspection you could see the glass had been burning.
I first fixed this by folding a few layers of aluminium foil and sticking it over the seam with silicone sealant, but at the next service Joolz replaced this with much neater aluminium tape, problem solved.
