I'm in the minority amongst my mates about this one .... I have every version but had this first on VHS. Watching it now on Amazon and still really enjoy the voiceovers !

I haven’t seen many versions of it. Which is the best version?

I think all versions are a crap, or crappily executed, actual story. There really isn't much of a one to be found.

The acting and of course the visuals are spectacular, but I always leave feeling like I should've had a more satisfying time.

I feel zero shame in stating this.

You need the version with the extra 8 seconds of previously unseen footage, complety changes the tone of the film yes

This. The theatrical release was ruined by studio interference, and it was only by a chance screening of a rough cut that it was revisited and (eventually) fixed.

Also, slightly off-topic, but the Bladerunner 2049 sequel is another film that can leave you a bit underwhelmed with respect to the tone if you didn't see the three shorts that were released on Youtube in the weeks leading up to the cinematic release.

One anime and two short films filling in the timeline between the end of BR and the start of BR 2049.

I'm fed up with you executives sticking your noses in and fking up my films...
hehe

Interesting that Blade Runner wasn't credited to Alan Smithee but the TV cuts of Heat and Scent of a Woman were.

Years back I bought a Blade Runner DVD box set with five versions of the film including I think the rough cut you're talking about. The theatrical voice over does have its charms but Ridley Scotts 'Final Cut' is the only one worth watching imho.
