R50 no crank

Hi gents
My son has a 1.6 r50 2003 plate and is suffering from a no crank problem
Battery is fine and problem is still there with it connected to my transit van

Trying to start it all you get is a tick every second and no starter the click sounds to be the solenoid
Swapped the starter motor for a known good one and problem still there

Any ideas what it could be

You say the battery is good, how do you know this & what tests have been carried out on it?

Check all main positive and earth terminals on battery, alternator, starter & engine earth, as in proper check, not just look to see if they are there, as one will likely be loose/dirty/broken if the battery actually is good.

Battery is running my 2l transit

I will do the full clean and test for high resistance on the negs and pozzis

Main earths and + clean and tight

Had multi meter on the solenoid ignition feed and nothing (0.3v )

I’m guessing ignition switch duff?
Anything else that it could be

No dimming of dash lights when trying to start so there’s no load
