Back in 2011, we moved into our current home. A lovely little 3-bed semi down the end of a quiet cul-de-sac.

Next door, in the adjoining property, is a little old lady who likes her garden. So much so that the previous owners of my house shared the garden with her. they had little pathways going between the two properties and the little old lady would tend to both gardens.

The people who lived in my house didn't ever have children, and neither did the old lady next door. She lost her husband ages ago, and the house we bought was sold because the remaining lady of the house also lost her husband and couldn't afford the place. The house was rather run down. They were best of friends.

Naturally, once we moved in we found out that the old lady next door really wasn't happy about the whole thing, she had just lost her only friend in the world and half of her garden. I tried my best to be nice to her and put up with her, and, fortunately, she decided that blocking off the little pathways was best. but she still continued to intervene in my life and tell me what I should and shouldn't be planting in the garden, that I use too much gas and electricity and that washing my own cars "is for the poor people".

She has spent the last 10 of 14 years being entirely unreasonable. I had written out a bunch of examples but to be honest it starts to have come too much of a read, and for the purposes of this thread is irreverent.

When I moved in, the house was junk. I lifted up floors and insulation as a part of the remedial works and have found lots and lots of porn.

Whilst flicking through the vintage bush, as you do... I found pictures of my kitchen. not on dodgy Polaroids, but in a proper magazine. I have also found some fruity girl-on-girl action shots, of my bathroom. (Both the kitchen and bathroom have now been replaced)

Within the bundles of cutouts, magazines and negatives, I also found some handwritten letters. It turns out that the guy who used to live here (now dead), gave the old lady next door's Neace a bunch of money to sponsor her move to Australia, where the family now reside. She was to repay him, in part, by taking the lead position in some of his dirty pictures/movies/mags. I suspect, but cannot confirm that a bunch of the pictures are of her getting railed.

Since finding a bundle of grotty mags in the bushes is something long confined to the past, I kept the material thinking it might come in useful one day.

That time may have just "cum". I am moving soon, And after another unpleasant exchange today, I'm wondering if she would like the letters back.

The question is, do I take the high road? Do I want the drama? Do I wait until I have moved away and post them to her? Should I burn the lot?

Shall I take revenge on a lonely and bitter old lady or not?

the best revenge is just to get on with your life, I can't believe you even held on to the stuff in the first place!

Wait until moving day or later so you don't have to declare 'an issue with the neighbours' on that sellers form you now have to complete.

I think you'd be on sketchy territory sharing images of a third person like that, with potential for unnecessary collateral damage.

Take the high road, burn the pictures and put some frozen sausages in her garden.

I don’t get it, how is this revenge to give the neighbour pictures of her niece?

So, if i understand you correctly, you want to give unsolicited pornography to a vulnerable old lady with the express intent to cause upset? And in order to do this you are willing to throw her niece, whom you don't know and have no issue with, under the metaphorical bus because you don't like her aunt?

You sound really classy.

The old lady has a thing about being old and "proper". Thinks I'm the bad guy, and that I'm somehow financially "poor". But her beloved ex-neighbours are sainted.

It's her niece who was seeking money from the guy who used to live here, in exchange for sexual favours. I wasn't going to send her the pictures, just the letters.

Sorry... probably down to my bad phrasing before.

Chuck the lot and move on.

Admit it, you kept it for self-pleasuring purposes, didn't you? hehe

The pictures are of the niece of the annoying old lady next door.

Doubt annoying old lady next door will be too impressed to discover the husband of her best friend was paying the niece to pose for such 'art pamphlets'

O/P, the best revenge is to live well, burn the 'art pamphlets' move on with your life and forget the old bat ever existed

Not porn, just the letters. But yes, that's about the sum of it.

When you put it like that, it does suggest quite strongly that I should take the high road. Burn it all and move on with my life. Although it probably wasn't your intention, it's good advise.

It's one of the benefits of typing things out to strangers on the internet, I haven't told anyone else about this, apart from my wife. who says "I just don't even want to think about it". I just want to see karma offer up a bhslap.
