if i was to change my front wheels 205/50/17 to 225/40/18 and 255/40/17 inch rear wheels to 265/35/18 would i have to get the car tracked and a geo set up ?

I doubt it. The front is just 0.06% different circumference albeit a bit wider. The rear is 1.09% larger circumference.

Edited to add: If they have not been checked for a while it is not a bad idea to do it anyway.

Wheel/tyre size does no affect tracking in any way shape or form.

Might be worth sticking to manufacturer standard wheel and tyre sizes for your car, so you know nothing will rub, handling balance is tested etc.

Wider and lower profile tyres will tend to be more sensitive to camber and toe changes, so they might show up issues that weren't so obvious on the old tyres. They might also prefer a slightly different geometry, but for a small change like that they won't be far wrong on the original settings.
