After changing channel on our mini box the channel will pause/stutter/buffer for a few seconds and continue to do it intermittently for up to 20 minutes. Problem started a few months ago after years of no problems, don't recall anything changing at the time.

Things I've changed:

TV connected to the mini box
HDMI cable to the mini box
Mini Q box
Main Q box

Still happens, any ideas?

2TB Main box
Sky FTTP broadband with Sky router
One mini Q box

There is a setting in the mini box for channel frequencies, not 100% sure what it is called but set it to the lower bandwidth and that should fix it. used to happen to mine until I chnaged this.

Yes IIRC if you turn off the 5ghz band it will force it to use the 2.4, which should be a more stable connection

I ended up getting power line plugs and using them for the connection as the wife was constantly meaning about it

We have a similar problem with the miniboxes giving a blue screen and losing connectivity, sometimes for seconds, sometimes until it's switched off and back on again. Just been reading on the Sky forum and it's a common prob but on there they're suggesting dropping the 2.4 and moving to 5!
Two miniboxes at opposite ends of the house, Q box in the middle, BT router between one mini and the Q, BT disc between the other mini and the Q.
Last night teenage son managed to drop the TV in his bedroom and knacker the screen while trying to switch off/on!

We used to have no end of trouble with our Sky Q Mini boxes - freezing, dropping out, then the Blue Screen of not much happening for ages.

Partially our own fault, as we have the Sky WiFI router and a Deco M5 Mesh in the house, and sadly for home decor reasons, then main boxes are far closer to each other than I'd like, so tend to interfere with each other - add in Sky Q's internal WiFI and it's a bit of a mess. Sadly the Sky WiFi router is needed to get Netflix etc on the Q Minis, otherwise I'd have turned it off.

Anyway, called Sky, they sent us out a WiFi Booster which we've put on the 2nd Floor, haven't had an issue in ages. Booster was free as well, which is nice.

We had the same problem. As said, switch to 2.4 Ghz and set up a signal booster and no problems since.

Not sure on the 2.4 GHz thing, but for the booster you'll need a Sly specific one that works on their WiFi and Q's internal one.

Just call them up and say you're struggling with the connection on the Minis they should send you one out FOC - mine took a couple of days to arrive.

It's in the settings menu somewhere, but it was a couple of years ago that the installation guy showed me, and I've forgotten the details. Sorry.

As said above, give them a call and they'll come and sort it for you. The Sky signal booster is pretty compact, but obviously you will need a power source near to where it will be sited, between you two boxes.

Disable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi on mini boxes.
If interference is causing a problem with the Sky Q equipment connect it only with the 5GHz band and turn off 2.4GHz.

edit: This is what I did, only he recommended switching off the 5GHz rather than the 2.4GHz.

Press the Home button on your Sky Q remote.
Navigate to the Settings menu. Don’t press select just yet!
Using the numbers on the remote enter 001 then select to display the engineer menu.
From the Networks tab select 2.4GHz Wireless and change to off.
Note: Please don’t edit any other settings in this menu.
Press the Back or Home button on your remote to exit this menu.

Thanks, still waiting for someone to come and reset the dish but it was only 2 years ago they promised.....
If you read your first post you say switch to 2.4GHz which a few have said, in your later post you say switch that one off. Can you see why I get confused.
