managing users in active direc software
Discussion
I use an nifty excel spreadsheet and a combination of csvde/net user. It can do everything expensive software does by creating a few clever batch files. This works perfectly in a school environment.
In brief, it creates a csv file to use with csvde, but that can't set passwords. So, it creates a disabled user with no password. Then, the batch file uses net user with a shedful of parameters to set all the options for kids accounts. It creates home directories, permissions for kids and staff, pretty much everything you need to do at the start of term.
All you need is a list of kids christian and surnames from phoenix or whatever you use. The rest is copy and paste.
If you want it, mail me through the profile and I'll send you a template.
