Essentially, keep the inner / middle ear dry.
Use cotton wool and a smear of Vaseline on the outside as a barrier when showering.

Thanks will do it's discharging anyway which helps as a barrier.

You have my sympathies- ear infections can become right nasty little buggers if not dealt with correctly.
It’s taken around 38 years to be finally free of mine….(well, sort of free - remnants remain)

They're an absolute pain I have an added complication of perforated ear drums thanks to 35 odd years around DFVs and Judd V10s etc...

I'm now been recommended a CT scan so we'll see what that throws up. (Wish I hadn't googled reasons for having it done on the ear).

Hopefully it’ll be a minor issue!
Mine was primarily a mastoid infection that wouldn’t go away even after many ops.
12 operations later (and no bones left) it’s finally calmed down but not without its issues (tinnitus mainly).
However, mine was severe and the surgeon that I originally saw wasn’t great - and technology has moved on massively
