Istanbul - Hotel recommendations - 3 nights

Any recommendations for good hotels in the centre of Istanbul - Tourist visit for 3 nights, nearly all the hotels have 9.0+ reviews on expedia making me think they are probably bots/false/dummy reviews.

Will want to do some tourist sight seeing, try the local foods etc.

We enjoyed the Fer Hotel, a short walk to the historic centre, close to good restaurants and very nice accommodation.

I have always used the Conrad in Besiktas. Admittedly that's because I was working near there. But i did get to like that area of Istanbul.

The Neorion is excellent and in a great location for getting around.

We stayed at Adamar Hotel for a few days last October.

Hotel was fine and well placed allowing us to walk to all the historic sites. Lots of places to eat around the hotel and lots of shops to keep our daughter happy.

What we weren't prepared for was being accosted by every shop keeper and restaurant owner to visit their establishment. It becomes tiring very quickly having to fend them off.

That said, we had a great time time there.

Pera Palace hotel was great- superb historic building, lovely rooms, great service.

Best concierge service i've ever had. Organised meals, trips, transport etc.

Not cheap, but excellent. Some of the rooms have phenomenal city views over the Bhosphorus.

I was there a couple of weeks ago, fantastic city to visit.

You're right about the restaurant owners and shop keepers though - I guess particularly at this time of the year when it's quiet! I did take a firm "No thanks" and walk right on approach rapidly!
