Good.
If you can’t see you shouldn’t be driving.

Good. Despite being fine in the day my OH can barely see her hand in front of her face without glasses when its dark. Plus maybe it will stop so many people crawling along at 35-40 on NSL roads at night.

So your happy your OH will loose her licence and youll (probably) have to drive her everywhere or pay for taxis?

No, she's fine when she wears her glasses and doesn't drive at night without them. How many others aren't as careful?

Amazes me folk will drive when their eyesight isn't bang on, I want mine to be as good as it can be. If I notice my current glasses arent cutting it I book an eye test and get new ones.

Also, people dont clean windscreens on the inside very often, that cant help.

Other one, get a car with decent headlights, or put better bulbs in, I did an upgrade on mine and its much better.

A few tweaks and you can really improve your vision, can be as simple as giving your glasses a wipe on a cloth as well.

Think a lot avoid it as its cost that can be deferred,

yeah im fine with licences being revoked. being able to see seems like, y'know, a minimum requirement for driving?!?

would be nice to stop the dawdlers who do 35mph everywhere at night and brake every time theres an oncoming car.

LeaseCar.uk believe regular, required eyesight exams in low light ‘may’ be implemented.

Can’t see that happening any time soon.

Cobra Kid, along with enforced English punctuation at the same time.

You’re allowed to wear glasses if needed, so she’ll not lose her licence.

There's a sizeable number of PH'ers, who may be in the failing age bracket, who comment about dazzling oncoming vehicle lights and LED brake lights.

Personally I'm not planning on doing a driving test again till I'm 70. In fact I don't think I even need to retest, just apply for a renewal. Maybe by then they'll make retests compulsory.

Seems to me this is just a variation of the standard driving test and no plans to enforce eye sight tests on those who already have a licence routinely?
It seems this update is planned and a lot of websites are putting their own spin on it.

All that being said regular eye tests for drivers would be a good idea but I don't see it being enforced more likely advised.

I get a test every year, I drive HGVs so need a better standard of vision than the rest of the rabble on the roads.

How many accidents are down to eyesight I wonder ?

That likely means their eyes are better than yours if they see these lights very clearly but you seem not to experience dazzle.

Really? So if my eyes can control my iris and vision to see clearly...
