Rezvani Beast is a bulletproof, 1,000hp Corvette

Part Batmobile, part hypercar and part V8 tank, Rezvani's latest is truly extreme

You might remember Rezvani from its 2019 Tank. It was built to survive the apocalypse and had a thousand horsepower, for some idea of the vibe. Now it has a new creation, for those that want to see the end of the world out in style: the Beast.

It is (or was) a C8 Corvette, and comes complete with that car’s 6.2-litre V8 engine. Only now it’s twin-turbocharged, naturally, for a thousand horsepower (why break with tradition?) and 878lb ft. So it ought to be able to make a swift escape from any sticky situations, including a 9.6-second quarter mile thanks to the traction of Michelin Cup 2R tyres. Apparently, the eight-speed DCT can handle the extra muscle, too. That being said, it doesn’t matter if your enemies do get within range, because the bodywork of the Rezvani (wasn’t that a GTA supercar?) is bulletproof. Of course it is. Or rather, there’s a $55,000 option that makes the Beast bulletproof, so it’ll probably retain this look. Just not in carbon fibre.

That’s really just the start of the extreme lengths Rezvani will go to with the Beast. There’s also something called a 007 Package (another $45,000, Mr Bond) which includes, and this is no joke, gas masks, a smokescreen, a pepper spray dispenser, magnetic deadbolts, electrified door handles, sirens, electromagnetic pulse protection and hypothermia kits. Plus, for the seriously paranoid supercar opener, an optional explosive detection system. And even an intercom, which seems strange given you’re surely not going to let anyone else in there. The interior has been reconfigured to allow for all the extra gadget buttons.

The option is there, of course, to forego all the silly stuff and just have a 1,000hp Corvette-based supercar that has a hint of Ferrari 296 GTB to it and be rarer than pretty much anything else: Rezvani plans to make just 20 Beasts. That being said, you’ll still pay for the privilege; even without the options, this is a $485,000 car, or just over £385,000. New carbon bodies and turbos don’t come cheap, and that’s before thinking about bulletproof glass. Rezvani says the Beast has been ‘created to stir your senses’ - reservations are being accepted now…

Silly bulletproof gas masks aside, £400k for a 1000bhp, good looking (much better proportioned to the awkward base car), nice handling - if it retains the corvette charactistics - car seems like relatively good value.

I’ll be honest, I love it. Looks somehow better resolved than the standard car.

I’d be happy with the standard power and get the cosmetic mods done.

I could live out my Knight Rider dream with the cabin and steering yoke!

How wonderfully silly biglaugh

I think the bodywork is a big improvement over the standard car. Shame the dashboard looks like someone took a blowtorch to it though.

An improvement on the original.

Look like the C8 with the front from a Ferrari Roma.

Which is not a bad thing. At all.

without the lights on it looks like someone forgot to put them on the car. Looks curiously 'blind'. Looks great overall though.

It'll need all that bhp if you go for the bulletproof option - at least an extra tonne or maybe 2..... teh article doesn't however mention the Stanag level that the armour is graded at. Not only that think of the handling with that weight.

Apart from the motorbike exhaust cans on the rear, that's a nicely resolved design IMO, and not excessively fussy compared to most other modern 'designz'..

Ignoring alot of the nonsense around it, that actually looks very nice. I do like the C8 anyway but this is a very decent re-skin.

Imagine how many C8's they'd sell if they looked like this, i know they're doing reasonably well as they are but they'd be everywhere if they looked like this at the standard C8 price and power

You see Chevrolet, the Corvette doesn't need to look like an absolute dogs dinner.

I think the C8 is one of the most poorly designed cars I've ever seen.

For a blank sheet design, it's inexcusable.

I really quite like this, love the rear haunches, wide and purposeful and what’s that? concealed headlights with an elegant front end, ahem BMW, not a massive fan of the stacked pipes and the stupid yoke but other than that seems like decent value if you want a bonkers bit of exclusivity!

Prefer the look of this to the base car. If you're gonna go nuts, do it in style
