I was wrapping my D-lock in old bar tape this morning (stops it dinging the frame paintwork) and that Litelock D-lock got me thinking.

It has an exterior shell that renders the angle grinder blade useless as it clogs the blade.

Could someone develop a tape made out of a similar substance/material, that one could wrap round the shackle of an existing D-lock?

Obviously nothing is 100% theft resistant, but if that tape could gum up the cutting blade of the angle grinder it might deter the thieving scum.

Thoughts?

Could work really well, chainsaw users have had clothes that do this for years

I had an old Specialized lock which had a mesh type thing over the ‘D’, saved the bike!
