I purchased a 612 in excellent condition a few months ago for less than 50k and it passed a comprehensive PPI inspection with flying colours . i was going to sell it albiet not for much of a profit but am now questioning that decision . Its only done 52000 miles and im thinking of getting a full service / overhall at my local independant and taking it on a trip across France and Spain ill do about 3000 miles . I reacon the car will still be worth the same when i get back . Anyone out there agreee?? I couldnt replace it now for what i paid for it especialy not such a good car.

Did you buy the car to as an investment or something to enjoy? Would the +/- 5% change in your cars value in the meantime make a difference to you?

I don't think 3k miles will make a difference at that level. enjoy it - road trips in 4-seater Ferraris are awesome

We did 3,000 miles through France and Spain in a manual 456 last summer. These trips are perfect for these V12 Ferraris.

As a purchaser, I think that’s a 612 that has successfully completed a 3,000 miles road trip is more attractive than one that hasn’t. It proves that the car is reliable and it will have done the car so much good by using it as intended.

Once a car like this has covered 50,000 miles, then you are buying on condition rather than mileage anyway.

Our 612 has 50k miles on it and has just had new radiator and new oil cooler installed plus belts last year. This summer we intend to take it up to a second property we have in North Yorkshire, 500 mile trip plus mileage when on leave and also a much longer journey into France towards the end of the summer which may include Italy.

Not as well suited to refined cruising as our Rapide but we didn't buy it lope along at 70. The question of value versus mileage is I think one that is condition and maintenance based. Buy a garage queen if you want a low mileage one to polish, buy one with some miles under its belt, good evidence of proactive and preventive maintenance and use it for its intended purpose...

Exactly this ^^. My F355 has travelled 60,000. Drove it for 10 hours and 650 miles last weekend with a few European trips planned inc factory visit in June which will be 2,500+ miles.
Best driven and not hidden (imo) !
