Does anybody know a way to find out how much a specific car sold for at auction?

I sold a car to WeBuyAnyCar last weekend and know it was heading to Belle Vue on Sunday. I've had a look on the internet today and found it on Ebay motors.

It is for sale for what I expected and I knew when I sold it I could have got a few hundred more by selling it privately, but tbh I couldn't be bothered with the hassle. I am though really curious to know how much it went for at the auction.

I've had a google but can't find any websites, can anybody hear point me in the right direction?

Thanks

You need access to the BCA buyer app which is trade only.

May be easier if you live local to pop in and ask one of the staff although my experience of BCA staff is they are miserable.

They don’t publish to Joe Public, but check the price of your car again, if it’s gone down significantly they probably didn’t do well.

Pretty sure they made a loss on my Civic Type R I recently sold them, 2 weeks later the price went down 11k and it’s now up with a dealer for not much over what I got.

Unless you were a trader logged in, watching/bidding on the auction live to see it go through there is no way of knowing how much it made.

The market is a little all over the place at the moment, I've seen a fair number of cars of all shapes/sizes make over book, but others way off book but the auctioneer is told to sell so there have been some bargains for sure.

Cheers,

Chris

Exactly this. thumbup

A trader mate of mine has an account and the only way he can see the selling prices is to be logged on and watching the auction live(although he has a mate who works at Blackbushe)!

Why are BCA so keen to hide prices from the public? It never used to be a closed shop and it does little for trust in the motor trade

BCA seem to hate the public

Around 15 years ago they kept increasing the private buyers fees (from memory they increased 4 times in one year), introduced BCA assured (🤣) reports, charged to send V5 to Swansea, etc.

They have hated the public over a decade, sharing prices is the least of their concerns.
