As per the title I'm looking to find my oldest bike a new home maybe to someone who fancies a project. No money required and apologies if this breaks forum rules. I thought it might be worth seeing if someone on here fancies having a mess about with it. If not its going on the local FB selling page.

The bike is a 94/95 Scott Timber Adventure and has served me well in the past. I last rode it properly in lockdown as i was between main bikes and it isn't bad at all. It still rides ok having just wobbled round my garden but needs a few little jobs. Frame is pretty tidy for its age and tyres have a reasonable amount of life in them. Saddle is a Selle Gel one of indeterminate age and it has bull grips on the handlebars as it was used for long rides in the past. Its currently been sat under a cover as my shed is full and rather than see it rot away need to give it away.

Happy to answer questions but it kind of is what it is etc.

PS I'm in the NW specifically Warrington

Not for me but what a great sentiment, I know from past experience how hard it can be to find a new owner for a bike !

Thanks, it isn't going to replace anything modern but if someone fancies a bit of nostalgia for nowt its a good option.

If that had a bigger frame I'd def be considering it as a base for a modded single speed or fixie project.

The right person, I think, could snap it up for just that.
Fatter tyres, SS conversion, a Brooks saddle and a different bar and stem that'd look awesome!

Just realised I hadn't put any measurements on. The frame is a M/L I would say with it being 19" and at 5ft8 I have been fine on it. I'd say anywhere between 5'6 and 6ft will be ideal. It could look great if someone wants to put a little bit of time into it. I probably should have got rid years ago but I kept thinking I'll do something with it but with my son now riding and having a couple of bikes space as forced the issue.

Ideal bike to make a 1*x commuter/pub bike out of. ££50 in parts for single crankset and you are good to go. Even if it need a new chain, cassette, and derailleur it is cheap in 8 or 9 speed.

9 gears is all you need. My summer bike is a 1*9 flat bar road bike - Surly Pacer. Geared so I get 25mph top end but still go low enough for any hills.
