headlamp conversion, north west

during the winter, i fancy giving my Chim a two or four lamp front end conversion, i kno wthe tvrbodyshop in Bristol are very good, but can anybody recommend anyone nearer me, i am in north wales, so probably north west would be best, thanx in advance Jez

Go in the kitchen and place your todger on the kitchen worktop. Get jezgoddess to slam it repeatedly with a rolling pin until the urge passes.

Don't do it - the car was designed to have a single (crap!!)round light at each of the front corners. Anything else doesn't look right and will decrease the value of the car. You can't change individual parts piecemeal without losing the integrity of the original design. Would you change the lights on your 916?

i am getting a alloy interior, taraka upgarde with nitrous and a cascade paint job, so i will never get even close to what i have spent on it anyway

JEZ,dont listen to the boring far*s,get it done.....it makes the car more modern lookin and unique and to be honest i dont think it reduces the price but maybe the amount of potential buyers is reduced. i would pay extra for a car that had it done as it would save me time and money gettin it done!! thats just my opinion obviously.i presume youve gone off the idea of trading it in for a 308 then!!!?? im not sure we should even be talkin to you.i would ring around a few tvr dealers up north as they should know or have some contacts.good luck

Yes, you are right, we buy, mod and drive our various cars for our enjoyment and no one elses.was put off the 308 by asking the ferrari owners in thier forum for thier opinon, love the Chim but i get bored very easy, so alyways got one eye open for something different.

jez,i was lucky it already had it done and i have no paperwork as to where it was done......and im glad i got one with it.people look more for sure!!!why dont you get a cerb with light conversion,thats what im thinking about doing.i get bored of cars to and spend my time lookin at whats out there but for the same price as my chim there really was no choice but the chim.....you cant beat it on a hot sunny day havin a blast.other cars seem a tad boring,quiet,slow etc.
i love me bikes...on the lookout now for a cheap fast one as sold my chopper.
save up for a 355 and forget the 308...too old style ,rob

jez,im from the magnum generation too.
a few years ago i had a replica 308 on a fiero 2.8 v6 left hand drive.sounded good but no oomph at all and didnt turn heads as much as my chim.girls just said am i into old cars...bloody cheek.
the trouble with the 355 replicas is that they dont really look good till youve spent 15-20 grand and then your not far off a cheap real left hand drive.they tend to be smaller wheel base,frontlights sligtly in wrong place,wheels dont sit right in arches,interior smaller,cant show people the engine!,tax disc reads toyota,need turbo version to impress,everyone asks if its a copy and you have to lie!only benefits are cheap running/insurance but for 15/20 grand there are some nice real cars hence i decided on tvr rather than 355 rep.rob

the 355 repom ebay is a proper v6 fiero comversion, which looks alot better than the mr2 ones, which i wouldnt even consider

Agree 100%... It sets the car apart from soooo many other Chims around. Mine were done by previous owner but i will be getting them blended in due course.

Jez go for it m8. I am on the lookout for a Chim over the next 2/3 months as a winter project and am having the speed 12 conversion done in Bristol (see my profile pic).

I think it makes the car look so much better, if TVR had continued to produce the Chim they would have almost certainly made some design changes anyway.

The alloy interior you mention and engine upgrade can you give me some more info as I am looking at all options to make my car special just for me.

Hope we can meet up next year and see the results of our labours.

Hi Fowey, unless i get rid of the car,i will be having either the speed 12 or the type r conversion, probably from bristol. leven are supplying the dash, kick plates and hopefully a new grill, Taraka and Nitrous by TVR Power ( speak to Jamie, he is very helpfull ) If you are ever up my way ( north wales )be more than happy to take you out and even let you have a go of mine
