Sorry to make first post here one asking for help but came across site while looking for answers!
I've owned a 450 Chim for 8 trouble free months, until last night when the headlights died. They worked before filling up with fuel, & didn't after, needing a drive home in the dark :eek:
The sidelights still work fine, all the fuses are fine and the rotary switch appears to work fine as the dash lights flick briefly as I move from sidelights to main beam. On the drive back they did flicker on briefly when going over a bump, so loose connection? but where? (i'm not overly technical unfortunately :rolleyes: )
Done 2k in last 3 weeks but with the dark nights the car will soon become a daylight never mind weekend car!
Any ideas gratefully received!

Check the headlamp relay!
I had exactly this, sometimes the lights worked, sometimes not.
When I opened up the relay the metal from one contact had built up on the other so the actual contacting area was like a pin head.
I simply filed down the contact back to round and have had no problems since ( 8 months on ).
I guess you should really replace the relay rather than try to fix it!
