Ride in Peace Dave. For me the Hairy Bikers were one of the first folk you saw on the TV who rode bikes and who weren't criminals or layabouts or doing 100mph everywhere. Seemed like nice people doing nice things, which was great, and did a lot of good food. Not an old chap either really.

Very sad. We saw them both at a food festival in Cardiff. "We're in a kitchen but there's no power planned for today so we'll just chat and sing songs."

He gave it a good go but was obviously very frail when he came back to tv.

Sad; too young, and everyone said he was such a nice guy.
And surprised; as I thought he was on the mend...

Sad day, some of my favourite recipes are from Dave & Si, my mum loves their cooking too. Nice guys, good banter and great food.

They've only just been running the new series following his cancer treatment. frown Seems it only bought him a bit more time, but seemed thoroughly nice bloke.

Interesting career as a professional make up artist before the cookery stuff.

I'm really sad about his passing. He seemed a really decent, funny bloke, and their shows always encompassed my two favourite things; eating and motorbikes so I always looked forward to them.

Feel sorry for Si too, I'm sure he'll be absolutely cut up.

A guy called Jonsey Jones set up a group called Voulunteer Riders UK.
Which the quote above is from.

He was one of the many of us motorcylists who during the pandemic travelled hundreds of miles at our own expense to deliver PPE that had been made by various sewing group around the UK.

All the sewing was done free of charge. All the deliveries were done free of charge.

Sad loss.

Very sad indeed.

Like others, I had thought (hoped) he was on the mend when he appeared in the new series recently.

He seemed like a lovely bloke and always made for very enjoyable viewing.

Sad news indeed....I was often left a bit nonplussed with the plethora of cookery programmes on the tellybox but the hairy bikers was a little bit different...there was clearly a genuine friendship between Dave and Si which could not be faked. His enthusiasm and knowledge were obvious...RIP

Awwww, sad news. Stood next to him and had a brief chat at Oulton Park BSB a few years ago, seemed a sound, down to earth fella.

Watching them on BBC2 now, King’s references to treatment , Dave being unwell during treatment / filming and how he doesn’t like riding alone is hitting hard frown

Yeah, me too, they are up in my neck of the woods.
