Doesn't seem to be a recent thread, any recommendations for fairly special (think a star or near enough) early evening meal, or taster menu, around Southbank / Bankside early evening tomorrow, Saturday. Something a bit funky, underground or up a tower etc., open to most cuisines except Japanese.

(OXO tower seems not universally loved.)

Cheers

Skylon in the Southbank Centre is OK - good views, good cocktails, OK food

If you ok with just outside of Southbank , this is an excellent off the wall restaurant choice

The Swan at The Globe theatre is nice, quite posh and not that expensive. Oxo Tower is crap, you're better off at The Real Greek on Bankside.

Pont de la Tour. Not elevated but excellent fodder.

Thought Skylon might be a bit busy in a Saturday night depending on the theatre etc., at least for cocktails.
The Swan at the Globe didn't seem at all posh tbh.

You'll have to cross Waterloo Bridge, but this place is lovely: https://www.squaremeal.co.uk/restaurants/spring_90...

Not high-end, but I like the Anchor & Hope and Forza Wine, otherwise Seabird on top of the Hoxton?
