Been looking at various vans for a while now and pretty close to pulling the trigger on a Joa-Camp 75T. The layout works well for us and the price point looks reasonable. Any thoughts from the collective in terms of reliability etc? Appreciate the brand is pretty new to the market but think they are part of the Pilote group and their reliability reputation is ok?
Thanks

The Budget, well very budget Arm of Pilote.
All the big northern euro brands/groups have brought out sister brands to build their less pricey offerings , aimed partially at the very large European rental market , so you generally get good build quality tried and tested layouts and kit just with a more plain and functional appearance.
For similar look at-
Sunlight from Dethleffs
Carado which are identical bar colours to Sunlight, from Hymer
Weinsberg from Knaus
Sunliving from Adria though these are temporarily withdrawn from the UK.
Iteneo from Rapido

Issue Joa have is unlike the German offerings from Weinsberg, Carado and Sunlight which have been around for longer, the Joa looks exactly what it is, a basic but decent box in which to go on holiday.
They have struggled to sell them over the last 2 years for that exact reason , the British are a little less practical than the European market and prefer a bit more aesthetically, you'll see some decent discounts on new Joa and a local dealer of them to me actually offloaded some to another dealer last year at a time when stock was still hard to come by which says a lot.
I'm an Adria dealer and we went through the same thing with Sunliving, when they launched them they looked a lot like the Joa of today and they were just too basic and were hard to sell despite being excellently built, they improved a little later on but then got pulled from the UK so adria UK could concentrate the smaller number of available chassis on the main brand vans.

Personally I'd look for a very good deal if you go the Joa route, but do look at the similar but maybe better known and developed offerings from Carado/Sunlight and Weinsberg, or put your money into a 3-5 year old full fat offerings from the likes of Adria, Burstner, Dethleffs, Knaus etc, yes it won't be new bit it may be easier on the resale further down the line.

Lots of stock around and markets quiet, total change from just a few months ago.

Weirdly Pilote have/had a cheaper sister brand sold in the UK years ago in Mooveo that did pretty well, don't know why they didn't just reuse that nrand rather than try and launch a new one.

Many Thanks NagsHead, food for thought. I'll certainly have a look at the options you've highlighted - hopefully one of those has fixed single beds set nice and low (thats one of the main attractions of 75T - the rear beds are low, so it has a more open feel and the area can be easily used during the day). Thanks again

Ohhhhhhh!
No, that's a virtually unique layout, I've seen it in other Pilotes but end low singles doesn't really sell with a seemingly endless need for everyone to have a full height garage.

I've never seen a 75t in the flesh so presumed it was the generic raised singles over the garage like all the others .

Most euro brands offered low singles end washroom so made their end singles/big double high ones over a garage .

So yeah you've not really many to Aby other options out there like that, Rapido briefly offered it several years back and Hymer offer some of their models with the option of lower singles but its never really taken off.

So least that helps the decision process, and it's not a great seller so make sure you drive a hard bargain, best of luck!

Thanks NagsHead. Would be easier if we weren't so fussy but we've hired a van with higher single beds and didn't like the lack of useability during the day, we hired a van with rear lounge (great during the day / when its raining) but didn't like making up the uncomfortable bed, and my wife refuses to consider drop down beds so...! Will go view a Joa this week and see if a deal can be made. thanks again

no worries sounds like you've done a great job of figuring out what works for you individually and that's the most important thing well done

Ps-
Not sure where you are based but the dealer that bought some from the Joa dealer near me are Eden Motorhomes in Cornwall, they have a 75t for £64995 don't know if that's a good price tbh but sure they'd be happy to cut a deal.
Top guys I run a different dealership but used to work with the chaps from Eden at another place many years ago they're good people
