I've just virtually taken delivery in my head of a Patek Phillipe 5227J - Calatrava.

I've always wanted one of those but never could justify the outlay.

I've just imagined going into the dealer and having a really good purchasing experience. I imagined that we tried on a number of different watches and over a relaxed afternoon, but ultimately settled on the model below.

Believe it or not they had one in stock that I could take away that day. I decided not to take the display model (they had offered a significant discount) but rather thought it would be more enjoyable to have the anticipation of it coming in over the next week or so and they could call up and tell me my imagined watch was in. I also imagined they threw in a whole host of additional straps just to help sweeten the deal. They were really nice and nothing was too much trouble. All in all a class purchasing experience.

I've now virtually taken it home and after wearing it around the house for a bit I've put it safely in my watch safe where I know it will appreciated. Virtually bought things never go down in value - that's one of their cool plus points. It's too good to wear outside so I've just gone back to my old cheaper watches for daily wear.

I'm glad I've made the virtual investement but it turns out it's not magically changed my life. I'm now looking for the next great watch to virtually add to the collection. There is always something better and it's the hunt that's actually the most fun.

Anyhoo, here are a couple of photos

So ... what have you got virtually incoming and what made you choose that model?

It's always good to get some ideas.
