the good the bad or just lucky

So I've had my T350c for 10 months now which I try to use every day its covered just over 11,000 trouble free miles.
I have not once had to put a drop of top up oil in it.
I usually have to top the water up every other day but no oil.
Is this a good thing or are they just over filling it at the service intervals.

Hi Paul
,
I think if we look at the whole picture with these cars, that's the norm. I lost count of how many times I panicked everytime I took the car for a blast, wondering if she'd start agin the next time, or hearing worrying sounds eminating from the engine, but, as yet, nothing, this year, the car has been used as much as the 'workhorse' Clio without a single hiccup. If this is what they call a timebomb of an engine, then quite a few of ours are ticking using geological times!!!

I was filling my water up every other day - as the manual said 10 mm above neck of expansion tank..
This leaves about 2 sq cm for expansion..
When it's half full - leave it there and keep an eye on it .. mine uses about 1 inch per week when I leave it 1/2 full.
My indy checked with TVR and they said that's correct and the manual in wrong..

I've spoken to a few tuscan owners and they've told me that they can sometimes use up to a litre a month ![]()
Looks like I've got a good one.
I don't know whether this is true or not, but a couple of people have told me in the past that, the reason the Tuscans seem to suffer more than the other S6 cars is because of a lack of ventilation in the bonnet, causing the engine bay to get super-hot,,, I have noticed all the other cars, apart from the Tuscan have plenty of vents, allowing the heat from that ruddy great exhaust manifold to escape.
Just an observation but should it be using water at all? Have you ever had a modern car that uses more water than oil... or in fact, ANY water? Do other S6 cars (Tuscs Tams etc) use water?
Anyway, I've posted before on this so I won't bore you with the details but rad leaks are a common fault on early 350s and mine didn't stop using water until I had it changed.
Something to consider before the warranty expires.

got to agree with blueyes, i was filling my T350 up weekly but then i saw my dealer who said that it was simply not necessary and it would only be losing water if it had a leak.
I soon discovered that i had been overfilling it (following the manual) and it was emptying down to the correct level every time i went for a drive.
