Sounds good - Starts on Friday 8 March 2024 at 20:00 on 5

The story of how this country was built from the ground up - by filling in a map of Britain's transport networks through the ages, and focusing on the UK's love-hate relationship with motorways. Since their fitful start in the 1950s, through the glamour of the swinging 60s, and the backlash against urban planning gone mad, we chart the progress of these epic engineering projects as they came to dominate our landscape

If you are interested in motorways then this might be of interest and I suspect it is more in-depth than anything Channel 5 might deliver.

Reading that blurb and reference to the Swinging Sizing Sixties, I can probably guess how the Channel 5 series could - in true Channel 5 style - be in each episode and the format it will take. It's the predictable stuff of parodies.

Thank you for the link. I'll definitely be checking that out.

The amount of alternative/independent content and content makers is astounding and makes TV look every bit the outdated part of the media it is.

This is why youtube is amazing. The niche topics of interest shared by the few of us which struggled to ever make it onto TV are now available.

I wasn't sure about Auto Shenanigans at first, but his presenting style really grew on me.

I'm fairly sure that this C5 documentary will be less interesting and informative than his YouTube series on motorways.

His passion seems real, genuinely thrilled about a disused
slip road or an abandoned Little Chef.

I wish he'd make longer videos, but I know the reason for the 10 minute episodes,
the more episodes the more brownie points from the zionist you tube lizard people.

I stumbled across Auto Shenanigans and I find it oddly fascinating. As I'm local to the M53 & M56 finding out their historied was interesting, especially the lack of J13 on the M56.

The Sabre website is a fine place to go for road infrastructure junkies.
