I am thinking I’d spend a few days next week in the Gower (weather dependent).
I recall reading about a South Wales campsite right on a beach but it didn’t take advance bookings, it was a case of turning up and see if there was apace.
I recall it was literally right next to the beach but cannot find details of it now.
Am I imagining this or does anyone know what it is called?

Any other recommendations for the Gower (in a 6m van).

This place didn't take bookings when I met my wife there 30 odd years ago! biggrinhttps://www.porteynon.com/

Or Three Cliffs Bay is a spectacular spot too.

In 2021 we camped at Llangennith Bank Farm, which overlooks Rhossili Bay. Hillend Camping Park, just below us, extends to the dunes behind the beach. Lovely spot.

+1 for the site at Port Eynon. We were there a couple of years ago and can highly recommend.

We also went to this place a few years ago and can recommend. Very handy for beach/pub/chippy etc.

Arrived at Pory Eynon, I have the lower field completely to myself.
Not a bad view from the van

This looks like a great site, any more pics?

My new day van should be ready by the end of April and we are looking at a road trip to Wales and then up to Scotland in early May.

No more pics of the site, it is in a great location. If you want elec then those pitches are further back from the coast. Showers and toilets are excellent. Ship Inn is nearby (good food) and there is also a chippy but it was shut.
Behind the site is a headland and the coast path runs through it, here a few pics, all taken close to the site
