sideways practice

does anyone know of any disused airfields or large strips of tarmac were one could practice there side ways technic, car parks are to public and i dont fancy forking out £300+ for a driving school any one got any ideas?

Ridedrive use Bruntingthorpe - costs about £45 for 1 hour IIRC. Not sure if it is only bookable through a company or open to the public too.

A hour do'nt sound long, but I guess a hour of sliding = a pair of tyre's.
