The wife's friend just inherited this from an estranged sibling.

Can anyone establish the model it is, she thinks it's just over 10 years old.

The code inside the bezel says M358387, and the bracelet EO11

The bracket looks ever so slightly 'bi-metal', with centre parts (light blue hue), and the dial has no clock face calibration dashes.

Also, any help with potential value would be welcome, the owner bought it new and then basically never wore it, but no box or papers.

This should give you an idea, if it's 36mm > https://www.chrono24.co.uk/search/index.htm?query=...

Or this, if it's 31mm > https://www.chrono24.co.uk/search/index.htm?query=...

It appears to be a Rolex 116234 with Oyster bracelet, fluted bezel and diamond markers. However, I would want to get it authenticated as genuine. The finish on the brushed section of the bracelet does not look factory.

If genuine maybe £5-7k. A bit more with box and docs.

With regards to getting it certified, is this a std process (cost) from most Rolex dealers?

You could try taking it to a Rolex authorised dealer and explaining the situation. They may or may not be prepared to offer an opinion.

Or sell it to a dealer, who will make their own decision about it. You could try Dominic Hackett of Hackett watches, a member here. He will be there or there abouts on value.

If he is selling, he'll presumably be selling to trade.

Yes, the wife friend's wants to sell it, even though it's her deceased siblings she has plenty of other mementoes of them.
Probably sell to trade, or maybe give watchcollecting site a try (after getting an authentication undertaken)

A Rolex AD will probably open the case to check the mechanism and tell you if its genuine within minutes.

Or you could post it off to Rolex service centre for a service estimate, if they send you an estimate then its genuine.
