Afternoon all..

Yes it's saturday afternoon and I really shouldn't be surfing the net... I should be at Santa Pod...

Thursdays qualifying session was going fantastically well, 4 runs really close to the numbers with an 11.088 on an 11.08 dial in... This put us in the number 3 spot... which was nice..

Unfortunately the 5th qualifier would be the end of our weekends racing.

The car behaved a little strangely during the burnout but seemed to be ok. The car staged, the lights burnt down and the car launched without problem, however shifting into second we were completely without drive.

So we're back home now (having watched a bloody good days racing yesterday) and have pulled the gearbox out of the car, the torque converter is fine, but the sun gear on the high clutch pack (if I remember rightly) is toast!!!

We've got 20 days to get something sorted... Fingers crossed!!!

Sorry to hear of your woes, hope it all gets sorted out in time - I wondered why i couldnt find you ! You missed absolutely nothing on Saturday as no-one got a run due to the rain (some pits under 6" of water and the trade area was up to your knees!!). Sunday we didnt start racing until early afternoon, and went on till 9.00pm (mmmmm.. .. ..top fuel in the dark).
Maybe see you in October for that beer?

We should be there in October all being well....

I think I did see you, well, I'm pretty certain I did, as we were stopped trackside outside your pit when you returned from a run... I figured you were a little on the busy side so left you guys too it!

Silver Grey Mondeo? (the PH sticker gave it away!)

Bear's in October it is!

I also saw a silver / grey mondeo with a PH sticker, outside Shockwaves' pit?

What a super day sunday was. The track crew were just incredible. Having been up at first light weds, thurs, friday and saturday, as well as the previous weekend, preparing the track, the guys were there at 4-30am on sunday sweeping and trying to dry the track. After the rain gods had their fun, usually waiting untill the track was ready before dropping a frustratingly tiny amount of fluid on the track, the guys just picked themselves up again and started again. That the event got finished at all is a tribute to those guys and girls.

slikk wasn't pitted far away from Shockwave, so that's quite possible...

We were next door but one, next to Dave Wilson, so yes, it was mine.

Just had news, the box that we had ordered was not the right box, fortunately it hadn't been shipped, so we've amended the order...

Main problem here is that there is a 4 week lead time on the replacement No October meet for us ...

However, the new box is rated for 800Hp in a door slammer and we're rather substantially lighter than a bodied car!!

Sometimes you have to wonder why you bother, but as the saying goes..."theres no point in going home with second place and a van full of spares".
