2011 V12 Vantage TPMS valve recommendations

Anyone replaced their TPMS valves that can recommend a replacement that works as oem at a sensible price?

The standard advice used to be to disable the system & have done with it but I think the MOT zealots on here would go into fits of apoplexy if that were suggested.

My local dexel tyre fitters sell a selection for most vehicles when I needed 2 TPMS modules last time, were about £60 each and fitted when I had new tyres.

It depends on which type of sensors you have. The later Beru versions are fairly easy to replace as they self calibrate once you start driving. But if you have the older SmarTire system with the control box under the glove box it could be worth speaking to James Hawkes-Reed at Aston Installations. They offer a solution using Autel sensors and it is a fair bit cheaper than the OEM AML offering. The defeat cable (which they can also supply) could be an option for you on a 2011 car, as I’m fairly sure TPMS has to be working correctly (for MOT purposes) on cars from 2012 onwards. BRM.

That seems to be the folklore. I have an 2012 car and it has the older SmarTire system I guess they must have had a few old units knocking around towards the end of the production run. Check under your glovebox. If you can see a small black plastic control box with flashing lights then you have the SmarTire system. If there’s nothing there you have the later Beru sensors. I am also looking at replacing the TPMS valves when I replace all 4 tyres the HUF RDE 011 will fit the AM cars below prices are all over the place.

You’re spot on, just put my head under the glovebox and a smartire box staring back at me.. feel silly not knowing to look before !

The TPMS I have are actually working, I’ve managed to get a set of the later V12VS 10 spoke forged wheels and was going to leave the standard wheels as are and store for sake of having the originals still and just fit new TPMS and tyres to the other wheels. As is I’ll swap the tyres and TPMS over to the new wheels and hopefully all will carry on working. Grateful for advice
