Small- medium SUV/High driving pos, 16k ish

Hi all

would like to transfer from a Mazda 3 to an SUV or high driving position car of some sort.
One of the main requirements is that the tyres are not bladdy low profile. nice chunky tyres so that kerbs are no longer a nemesis.
Also petrol/ petrol hybrid not diesel. (Low mileage mainly)
Automatic.
Sat nav, heated seats, rear parking beepers/camera.

I like the Yeti but the 1.2 petrol seems too underpowered.
Ive seen a few I like but seem cursed with low profile tyre, Kona, Kuga(bit big anyway probably), Seat Ateca, Arona, Skoda Karoq/Kamiq, Suzuki Vitara maybe.
T-Roc seems ok but none at that price really.

Brother in law's got a duster, the tyres meet the spec but I think its a bit bland overall. Never had a renault and don't fancy one now.
X1 a potential not sure what a DS7 is.

We've got an X1 (18d S Drive manual) and it's very good.

Cheap tax, 50 mpg, handles well, well equipped and looks ok IMO.

If you can, go for the 20d X Drive.

Kia Niro hybrid looks to fit your criteria. Boring but competent and cheap to run (50-60mpg)

I have a Yeti 1.2 and whilst it’s no powerhouse it gets around just fine. It’s actually really rather light at around 1,260kg which undoubtedly helps. It’s also quite long geared in 7th, with DSG, so it’s spinning at around 2,300 revs at 70mph on the motorway, so quite relaxing and quiet.

I believe some models were available with a 1.4tsi engine, which is about 40bhp more powerful. I would imagine that might be the sweet spot. Below link is an example, although the wheels/profile don’t look particularly kerb friendly.

Rav4 hybrid - 10 year warranty combined with well proven and bulletproof mechanicals. Decent to drive too.

Don't know current secondhand values but the plug in models are even pretty fast.

A Lexus NX300h might hit the spot. Plenty good examples around 4-5 years old available and they are usually very reliable. 16k should find one.
