Work in IT, being quizzed at work if we can have chart music on our phone system music on hold. SME 150 employees, not a call centre, engineering firm. Told them we need a PRS licence but never actually had anything to do with them.

If we get one of these PRS licences, can we just upload a 60 second looping clip of "We will rock you" (what our chairman actually wants!) for our held callers to listen to or is it a bit more complicated than that.

Alternatively, what other options do we have for hold music. We just use what ever is built into the system and its fine. I have no idea or energy to even consider why it needs changing.

Any help would be gratefully received.

PRS license is quite expensive - seems alot of faff just for some hold music.

Thanks for replying yes it does. Spoke to someone at the licencing org, up to £700 depending on how many lines we have coming in. Passed the info to the higher lords for decision, hope they think its too much too!
