MIL light on, continuous beep...!
Discussion
Hi all,
First of all I'll introduce myself (or the car really, cos no one really cares who I am!) before tapping into the wealth of knowledge available here!
Bought a 1999 4.5 Cerbera back in May of this year and apart from the odd moment, it hasn't cost me anything extra to keep running. If we exclude petrol (just risen to 100.9p a litre in my area!!), oil, coolant, and insurance of course ;)
Today after starting up fine, and running fine, the MIL light came on with a continuous beep after about 15 mins driving. Switched her off, started up again, no light. After about the same time again, the MIL came back with the continuous beep. car running fine, no different to normal. Anyone know what this could be? Had a gaze through the forums, and someone said this might indicate water temp sensor? Can anyone confirm or guess what shes trying to tell me?
Thanks,
Al.

Thats something is wrong!!....the MIL light is a warning light, and although the car seems to be running ok, do you self a favour and get the car checked out by someone who knows what they are doing....otherwise it could be that all your bills will come at once!
Quote from the handbook...."It will also illuminate if there is a problem with the fuel injection or emission system. Consult your dealer. Considerable damage could result if the car is driven with the light on."

Found someone else with the same problem as you mate:
""MIL light coming on and storing various fault codes - usually after stopping for a few minutes after a long run. This is so frequent I have bought my own fault code reader !
Seems to have been cured after replacing ECU chip with latest 273 version.""
Hope this helps mate
