Not sure that IM do this stuff and I wondered if anyone can recommend a good (ie cheap, fast and high quality :smilesmile pensions actuary?

Thank you, PH financial hive mind.

Hi- I have a complicated work pension- part defined benefit. And I now wish to split it to share, separately, with my ex-wife. Our divorce mediator has told me that we need to have an actuary calculate a fair split, as it's complicated. Thank you.

if it's a company pension the Scheme will have a formally nominated Actuary and they will provide this service as part of their contract with the Trustees of the Scheme. I know ours does. (The Scheme Actuary is independent of the Pension Scheme)

Your current pension administrators will be able to provide you with your current CETV. I doubt they will get involved in splitting it for divorce purposes though.

You could try these people.

Thank you, Rufus. Yes, it’s not the CETV I’m after, it’s an actuary who can make a judgement on how to split the pension 50/50 bearing in mind that part is defined benefit. I’m sure a complicated task. I will take a look, I had previously received the CETV and this is very much something more complex than the current value.
Many thanks, I appreciate the responses.
