Hi there,

Hi,

I often find that cars listed as a 'good price' on Auto Trader don't correspond in price to their valuation tool. I can't work it out.

For instance, a car is listed for £7.3k, but the valuation tool values it at £5.8k.

Anyone know what the deal is?

Cheers

No, the valuation tool doesn't give you a trade in price. It tells you what you can expect to sell the car for on Auto Trader.

The low / fair / good / high price thing I thought would be helpful, saving you comparing lots of cars. But only about half the cars listed by traders / dealers seem to get one. frown And NO private sellers get an assessment. It's also massively biased towards mileage. rolleyes

Sell it for privately - either to a private buyer or trader.

The dials are based on a comparator with other similar model cars for sale by other dealers.
