Is it points??
Discussion
Mrs UTH rather unforgivably got done by a camera going through no entry signs on a one way street......£65 fine through the post from the council......but I remember years ago I got 3 points when the police caught me doing similar as a youth.
Should we be expecting another letter with points to arrive? Ironically this road was next to a police station!

If caught by the council it's just the fine. If it's the Police that catch you it's points as well. Should we be expecting another letter with points to arrive? Ironically this road was next to a police station!

If the council has taken over responsibility for it then it becomes a civil offence, so they can’t issue points for it??
Not necessarily. The legislation allows for contraventions to be enforced solely by councils (non-endorseable decriminalised PCN only), or by either the council or the police (but not both for the same offence). Without digging more that a quick Google tells me, I'm not sure which category going through a no-entry sign comes under. If you did get a police and council ticket for the same offence the police ticket trumps the council ticket so you do end up with points. "The police are also taking action" is one of the grounds for appealing the council ticket. Happens sometimes with parking on a zig-zag at a pedestrian crossing.
