For many decades I have used many different foot pumps and hand pumps to inflate tyres with Shrader Valves but never get on well with them as so much air escapes when I wrestle the connector off the Shrader valve.

What I'd like is a mains powered pump that has one of the connectors that I've seen in garages (like a rigid metal tube that is simply pressed on to the valve to achieve a seal and can then be pulled off instantly with minimal loss of air).

Anyone know of such a thing that is cheap as chips?

Many thanks.

Tyre/airline Chuck. Fit to inflating device of your choice.

You over inflate then bring it down to the right pressure

The issue is, the kind of "push to seal" air chuck you want only really works with an actual compressor or decent tank of air behind it, not for any technical reason over the sealing or anything, but just because you want to shovel enough air through it to do the inflating within a sensible amount of time to be holding the damn thing on there!

Which is why the "cheap as chips" option you want will probably come with a screw or clamp on fitting, so you can attach them and have it running for some time while the small, cheap compressor takes its time to inflate the tyre, and not be crouched down with it marvelling at how bored you're getting.

So if you're married to the idea of getting a push on only chuck, you probaly need to be spending the money for an "actual" compressor (doesn't have to be extravagant - maybe £50 for a small used one) and a cheapo airline inflation chuck.

If what you really want is just a connector that isn't rubbish on a dirt cheap inflator, a cheap metal one as posted above is likely the best choice.

Thanks. I could try the metal one suggested above... but as I get older (and having a family of females) I seem to be the one doing all the tyre inflating on multiple cars and would now like to take the easy option! I thought about buying a second hand one but not found anything suitable. I'll keep trying.

Thanks all.
