Fixed! Cooling Fan/Fuse/Relay

Just thought I'd share this as I have seen this come up a couple of times.
My 40 amp fan fuse spot welded itself in place. On further exmaination the relay had done the same.
I had had the fuse blow a few times so eventually thought I'd leave it to a professional so called an Auto Electrician.
He sorted it in 2 1/2 hours putting each fan on a separate fuse and relay.
The cost (I thought I would be in for £100 plus. £65 quid! I think this is a bargin.
I am in Andover area and can recommend Andy Clark in Andover (On Yell). Top bloke!

Blimey, how many other cars are out there that have managed to never have this mod done? How any have survived this long is beyond me as mine blew the fuse within days of delivery and overheated as a result.
Mine was fixed at the first service by the dealer as a routine modification, as the 40amp fuse was recognised as not being up to the task. While I don't think it was a factory recall as such, I thought it was done as a matter of course to all the cars. It didn't cost me anything.
Maybe I just had a good dealer!
