Car guessing game with your other half?

My wife sometimes comes home and says "Saw a lovely car on the way back" and then we have a game to guess what it was based on a few abstract clues.
"It had a badge like the twisted flax off Only Connect"
"It had a light at the back that went right across, like this", then draws it,
"It was a sort of purply blue"
"It was noisy, but a good noisy, not like your car"
"Was low, and wide, old, big back window"
Usually involves some googling,
We have had a Polestar something which was the light bar, old and wide was a Jensen Interceptor.
First time was on buying our first house, she viewed this one first and told me the son next door had a really nice old car, she said she thought it was some kind of rally car on, was intrigued and was thinking RS Escort, Sunbeam Lotus or similar, nope, was a basic, but very tidy Terracotta Brown Chevette with two Halfords lamps on the front ! Not quite a HS or HSR but she did clock it was something a bit out of the ordinary.
You ever had this or just me ?

google red sports car - it has now been narrowed down to either Lotus Elise, Audi TT or Lamborghini Huracan - apparently they all look the same and a bit like that "Nissan 200sx thing you had years ago"
I have now given up with these conversations

Years ago my gf passed her test and was looking to buy a car. The budget was reasonably flexible but she had absolutely no idea what she wanted so I suggested she keep an eye out for cars that she liked and to take a note.
A few weeks went by and she announced that she had spotted 3 and had kept a note of their names.

Baring in mind she was 22 and had just passed her test I was expecting something Polo or Golf sized or maybe at a push something like a TT the list was pretty odd! In the end, I spotted a cheap but immaculate Accord Tourer in full maroon/beige leather pensioner spec which she absolutely loved!

Can't believe you didn't pop her in a nice 'Carrera' as a first car. Perfect wheels for a 22 year old novice. A few weeks went by and she announced that she had spotted 3 and had kept a note of their names.

Although to be fair, when my grandmother was buying her (last ever) car, that ended up being a 1.1 (I think) 205 'Style', she did say a 911 looked 'a nice little car'.
Yep, although my GF is actually pretty good at this most of the time (I've trained her well over many years). The problems come when she says something "looked" like something else. Usually it looked nothing like the thing she's comparing it to, only in her head are the two vaguely similar.
One funny one that springs to mind, she once came home telling me about a car she saw in central London. Conversation went a little like this:
Her: It was blue and orange, you know, like McLaren
Me: Gulf colours (shows pic)
Her: yeah that's it, I think it was a GT40
Me: Shows her a GT40
Her: Maybe, I don't think so. It had those weird doors
Me: Yeah GT40s have weird doors (shows pid)
Her: No, ones that open up
Me: Gullwing? Scissor? Swan? (proceeds to show her every car that has none standard doors)
Her: No, none of those. The whole top opens up
Me: WTF are you talking about.
Queue months of frustration of her not being able to describe what she meant and me teasing her about this imaginary car that splits in half.
Boy did I eat my words when literally a year later I found a pic of a Sterling Nova Kit car that I didn't even know existed
I had to give her props for her description as she did actually get pretty close, if only she knew what a canopy was.

We test drove a Lexus RX. The road test summary was one word : lollopey. No mention of the seats, space, tech, looks. Just lollopey. Any SUV is now off the list as lollopey is just not acceptable.
But “I was in xxx’s car today, it was really good being so high up”.
“Riiight. What was it?”.
“An Audi Q something I think”.

Haha, that does actually quite accurately describe how an RX drives and it's all the better for it. Infinitely better than crashing along in an S-line Q7. But “I was in xxx’s car today, it was really good being so high up”.

My wife is someone who likes cars and can identify most. But now and then we have this sort of guessing game.
Recently she told me about an “old BMW” she’s seen driving around. She’s mentioned it several times. “A small one from the 1980s. I think it’s one of those Alpina ones you like.”
I was thinking E30 Alpina.
Last weekend I was with her and she spotted it.
It’s a Hyacinth Bucket-style Rover 200. A 216 Vitesse, so probably as rare as an Alpina.
Recently she told me about an “old BMW” she’s seen driving around. She’s mentioned it several times. “A small one from the 1980s. I think it’s one of those Alpina ones you like.”

) there’s three left on the road!I don’t get to play this game with my partner, as she’s a proper petrolhead, so recognises pretty much everything!
My other half likes the odd ponder about what car she wants. I got "If your Mazda was smaller and not an estate and automatic then it would be good". So she doesn't actually like my Mazda then! She wants something small but with loads of room to carry bicycles, dog and accoutrements, loads of toys but cheap, easy to see out of by way of having no A pillars, automatic and a "Jeep" (any off-roady looking thing). So I'm looking for a Tardis with big windows and a lift kit on it.. Auto Trader is currently not displaying many.
