So rumours have it that a MY25 GT3 will be launched late this year. It will have a 4.0l with 525ps, i guess from the 3RS and will be limited to between 1500-2000 units.

A MY26 car will follow with a 3.6l hybrid unit. Interesting times ahead!

I doubt they’ll swap engines 12 months after launch, but who knows.

It’s difficult to know where they’ll go with the next GT3. Maybe it’ll be a subtle advance this time. They need to try and keep the USP of it being vaguely useable on the road. I was driving at Oulton last week and the McLaren 650S GT3 didn’t look useable on the road in virtually any capacity. It’s just far too extreme, with virtually no clearance etc etc.

Not so far off where the 992 GT3RS is now ... owners are struggling to find room for the driver, a passenger and their race helmets ...

The 992GT3 had already given a little of the 991 boot space away with the double wishbone front suspension ... which is one of the reasons why some choose the folding bucket seats which allow greater access to the rear footwells etc.

From what I can find, the only bucket option was for the carbon fixed back seats; no folding option available as per the 991.2 GT3

I'm sure folding buckets were available on 991.2 GT3 & GT3 RS.

Correct.

Folding was/is not available for 991 RS or 992 GT3 or 992 3RS

No folding buckest on the 992 GT3. Hence I had to settle for fixed back buckets. Would have preferred the folding ones to make the rear space more usable. The 992 is easily usable day in and day out. Important to get geo properly done. It's very sensitive to it being off. That IMO also explains some of the diverging assessment in early reviews

Does a helmet not fit through the gap in the cage between the seats at the top?

I'm told that sometimes it doesn't ... depending upon the cage and helmet ... I was told this by an owner so ...
