Hi folks.

We are in the borough of Hillingdon, no city fibre here yet so considering the switch to virgin at this place. Driveway is paved mainly so wondered how they would run the cable. Had a look around and im almost certain its already been done and just curled up under the stairs.

Can anyone say if they think it looks like that cable? House is only just over a decade old so wouldn't surprise me. Cheers

Virgin usually run a black figure of 8 cable, it has coaxial cable for internet and a multicore phone cable attached. That should run from the street to the house, try and find that. You can see it in the pic you posted of the driveway.

I have a brown junction box on the front of my house where it terminates.

You may find a NTL/Telewest/Virgin outlet in side the house somewhere.

That certainly looks like a twinned coax broadband/telephone cable. If you order VM they will come and either re-use what's there already if it works OK, or install another cable from that access point in the street.

Thanks guys. I'm such a noob. I missed this at the back of the house (this is my gf place).

Next issue will be the signal but have time for that.

That picture is two cables taped together, a co-ax and a CAT5
