Didn't like the Chinese writing I posted, but basically says 1935, early summer, Xu Beijing (famous writer) wrote on / sign

Mrs DG posted it on local social media, it’s basically what ‘Chip said above’.

Just to be clear, I wasn't the brain behind the translation, the credit is due to my Sister in-law 🙂

There was some guy on here about 15 years ago speaking to a German woman, they'd exchanged messages for quite a while and he'd sent a photo of himself after a few weeks of messaging. She sent him a message and he was excitingly asking for a translation which turned out to be you're too fat, please don't contact me again.

Just remembered to come back to this, and glad I did! Some of those replies have properly made me chuckle, particularly the German translation above ^^

Re the Chinese translation, thanks to those of you that have replied. Very interesting re the date and name of the artist; Xu Beihong.

The Chinese writing was on the side of this picture..

(Visible on the right hand side)

So, the question now is..

Am I rich, beyond my wildest dreams…

Or is it hooky, and about as much value as a load of second hand lawnmower engines?

My brother provided additional information which I deemed irrelevant at first, so I didn't bother sharing.

Since you have posted your picture, his information does seem relevant now smile
