We are both just turning 60 and have had heaps of cars as convertibles , ranging from BMW Z4 to TVR Tuscan , we need a bit of a higher car now with some practical features to match .
We want to tour in UK and Europe , we do want a convertible and Automatic and it needs to be a bit higher than a Tuscan ! So we can get in and out .

Automatic
Diesel or Petrol
Two door but maybe small back seats
Some boot space
Not pig ugly and boring
About £10-£15K

Can I have any suggestions please .
I want and SL350 , and we test drove one but in truth its a bit low now for us .

Thanks

How about a Range Rover Evoque convertible? A tad over budget.

I expect it should be tall enough for your needs, and it has massage seats.

The downside? It's a rattly diesel, and I don't know if it's the dreaded ingenium chocolate engine.
Oh, and you'll have to resign your PH membership.

Or maybe a well-looked-after Volvo C70? A tad under budget.

I'm biased, but what about one of these?(370Z Roadster).

60 is nothing. Use it or lose it. My grandad didn’t have a stairlift until he was 98. Just get an MX-5.

Petrol is available. The Si4 is a 2 litre petrol wth 240 bhp, its much nicer to drive than the diesel and can be had for just above budget

I'd go for an E class

Classy and practical. Easy to get in and out.

Yep .. I'd second that but deffo get a petrol one - E400 or E500.

My E500 is a hoot in Sport mode and really wafty in Comfort mode.

I had one of these as a hire car on holiday. It was a very likeable thing, but I don't think it's an alternative to an SL by about a million miles. E or S class convertible will be a bit easier to get into than the SL.

I'd say the 6 series feels similarly low to the SL, although I only sat in an SL briefly. The 6 is definitely lower than an E-Class, which is pretty much what I'd consider to be normal car height, I.e. neither low or high.
