Driveshaft gaiters

Hi all.

A couple of the driveshaft gaiters have been reported as split at the Chim's recent service. Am planning to change all 4 this weekend. I understand the parts are Sierra Cosworth items? Does anyone have ideas where I could get the required kit/part no.s etc or is a TVR garage my best bet?

The job itself sounds fairly straightforward - has anybody done this and if so a rough estimate of time involved (and any tips!) would be helpful. Was given an estimate of £400 for the job to be done at the indi I used for the service.

I have the same job to do when I get around to it. I got a set of 4 gaiters from Joolz, when Joospeed was still operating. I think it cost around £30 for the set of 4. The job is quite straight forward if you are a competent / confident mechanic, but i'm going to allow a full day for it. I would have thought the gaiters are fairly easy to source, I'll give you the part number if you need it. I'm not absolutely sure but i think the drive shafts are Sierra Cosworth items.

Try mid 90's toyota hilux,perfect fit,15UKP for four including gkn packing grease.

i just had all 4 replaced at tvr. 638 quid! ouch. i'm gonna have to start getting dirty.

Going round in circles on the net. Want to make sure I get the right ones as this weekend only opportunity I've got for a while to use my dad's garage - otherwise its off for a big bill (sorry to hear about yours mak).

Hi, the items I had from Joolz are by amk automotive cv joint boot kit part no TSB 85 the long number on the bar code is: 505539003121.
Beware though; i found that one of my set of four had been packed with the wrong boot (at the factory presumably)despite the package being identical so check them before starting the job.
I would hate to pay someone £4-600 for doing such a straightforward if tedious job.

Cheers for that. Getting a local garage (not a million miles from you I don't think) to do them. Told them part from RWD Sierra (cosworth) so they should get the right ones as confirmed by AMK's website.
