Sorry guys, I have searched and can't find a thread on this.
What seats are compatible for a 3 year old in the rear of a 993? He's sitting in a booster seat in our other vehicle but this is too wide for the seats in the back of the porker.

Grateful for any advice.
Cheers!

I don't know what the law requires, but I just put my 4 yo daughter straight in without a booster. Obviously in more normal cars she's in a full child seat, but in the back of my porker I just use one of those triangular seat belt gatherers to keep the strap low on her shoulder - she's well restrained and comfortable.

Thanks nel. I haven't seen those triangular belt gatherers. Where do you get them, Halfords?
I think Harry would be fine in the seat apart from the belt which draws across his neck as you describe. If you'd be kind enough to let me know where I could get one then I'll give it a go. Thanks,
lee

I'll have a look at the name on thing when I head home at lunchtime and let you know. No doubt Mothercare type shops will sell them, but my office web-nazi filters shopping sites so I can't confirm.

I have Porsche's own child seat(s) for the back of my 993. They suit both my 10 month old and my 2 1/2 year old.

The seat comes in three parts - base, back and "table".

I bought mine from an ad in the back of 911&PW iirc I paid £200 for the two. However, I think somewhere like Porscheshop will sell you a new one.

Lee - if you don't go down the Porsche baby seat route, the seatbelt adaptor that I was talking about is called a "SAFEFIT" - just Google for suppliers.

I also have a Porsche seat in my 993 for my 3 year old which fits perfectly. It is a simple seat with a bolster through which the seat belt is fed. Porsche fitted an extended seatbelt in the back because the standard one isn't long enough to accomodate the seat. I also use it in the front, wehere I have a Porsche airbag immobiliser bar fitted. The seat comes with a strap which clicks onto the bar below the seat, immobilising the airbag. The seat cost about £60 with and the rest of the work and bits around £150. Not worth messing around when it comes to your kids' safety.

You need the Porsche seat, either Zoom or Prince. I can't remember which way round they are, depending on the actual size of your child. The one for the older children is very narrow and is the only one that will fit the back of the 993. Unfortunately, the OPCs appear to be discontinuing them so you will have to be quick or get a used one.

All this sounds a bit dangerous, live three year-old floating about the cabin.

Try sticking them in the luggage bay - helps turn-in as well.

Just out of curiousity is there a baby cot jobbie that fits in the back of a 996?
