I decided to hoon it to work this morning at 6am on some empty country roads. I was on boost a lot of the time for a change as it was very clear. Anyway got to the station carpark and noticed my fuel guage. I had emptied a 1/4 of a tank in ten miles! Bloody hell, that boost uses some juice! I'll slow down a tad from now on.

I think my record is 8 mpg over a tank. I was quite proud of that.

So you are not scared by the expected fuel shortage then?

You should trade your turbo-nutter barges in for a svelte Honda vtec. I get 30mpg from my Integra in normal driving!

It drops to 13mpg on-track, but then again, every car I've ever taken on-track seems to do 13mpg, regardless of engine size.

The 'liner is currently churning out a dismal ~15mpg,OTOH track use is about ~8mpg-or 3 complete fills per days track fun.If you play by percentages, doesn't seem too bad. [sheesh]

I Wish I could find one! The local Tesco garage has been shut for a complete re-vamp.It re-opened a couple of days ago,I just assumed they would put the 99RON on tap but NOOOO.Haven't found a single Tesco's Super pump in the Bristol area, anyone else?

I have no idea at all! I've even checked my card statements to make sure I haven't put extra fuel in that I've forgotten about.

Assuming the conversion factors for miles to km in my uni course manuals are correct (which seems likely) that's my figure.

I'm assuming that this pathetically good economy means I'm actually missing out on the full performance potential of the car. We'll have to see at the next rolling road.

My Dad offered me his spare car if I want it. Not much better on economy as it's a 5.3 litre jag, lol.
