Discussion
Hi guys...
Had my car abroad for a while and just brought it back to blighty. Needs a service and a tracker (according to my insurance) SO...
1) iam thinking of changing insurance co's to one that doesn’t stipulate a tracker considering how much of a rip off it is. Do u guys have any good suggestions of insurance cos?
2) the car needs a service, its mint with 35k miles but is a 2001 car. in yr opinion wud you switch from OPC to a specialist??? any recommendations???
many thx in advance. like i said, been out of the country too long and really could do with some advice.

I always use a specialist anyway, They take much more care with your car and actually no what they are doing!!.
I have a 1999 C4 and 996tt and both have been through independants, I use Camtune (Godalming) or Paragon (Five Ashes) both are outstanding in work and advice.
I know it looks better to have an OPC Stamp in your book but I would prefer my car to be up to scratch instead of a pretty stamp in a book.
IMHO!!
Cheers
John

w.r.t. insurance, I'm with Admiral, didn't need a tracker (I was 30 when taking out policy, 1998 C2 with GT3 aerokit and split rims declared as "accessories"...car on driveway but not garaged, wife on policy, commute to and from perm place of work but not "business use", etc) and paid £850'ish.
Also heard good things about Norwich Union Direct ("Quote me happy"...yeurgh
), guy whos just bought my Scoob (Impreza STi-5 Type R Jap Import, Grp 20plus) got a very good deal through them....
Elephant.co.uk are *I think* part of the Admiral group, same look website and quote came out within £15-20 IIRC...
...funny that, just finished reading the write-up in 911&PW about Mark Sumpter's (Mr Paragon) Carrera-GT...yummmm
Hope this helps
